2nd Station Saint Simons
|
The countdown for the 2nd Station Saint Simons
Island reunion has
begun. The purpose of the reunion is to honor those associated with
Station Saint Simons and their families during its commission from 1937
through 1995. The reunion is sponsored by the Coastal Georgia
Historical Society and will be held at the Historic Old Coast Guard
Station at East Beach on Saint Simons Island. Reunion activities begin
on Friday, November 13th and continue through Sunday, November 15, 2009.
All Coast Guard personnel whether Active, Retired, Reserves and
Auxiliary are all welcome and encouraged to attend.

2009 Station St. Simons Reunion
|
The 2nd Station St. Simons Reunion is planned for Friday, November 13 - Sunday, November 15, 2009. All Coast Guard personnel affiliated with Station St. Simons from 1937 through its decommission in 1995 are welcome and encouraged to attend. The event is sponsored by the Coastal Georgia Historical Society, a non-profit organization that restored, opened, and now operates a Maritime Museum in the Historic Coast Guard Station. Reunion activities include tours of the Maritime Museum, St. Simons Lighthouse Museum, and Station Brunswick USCG as well as a picnic, a low country boil, a catered dinner and other activities. Reunion fee is $85.00 per person. Several area hotels are offering special rates for reunion attendees. We hope you will join us for a weekend of fun, celebration, and remembrance. Once you choose the property that you would like to proceed with, I will request a contract from the property and start negotiating on your behalf. You sign the contract with the hotel directly. I come from the hotel side of the industry with 25 years experience. I understand the clients needs and I know how to negotiate with hotels to get what you need. Since my husband is Active Duty Coast Guard, I also understand the needs of my Military reunions. There is no obligation to sign a contract with us and there are no fees to pay for our services. For anybody who ran 30's,32's,38',40's and 41's, we want you for the second annual USCG reunion at Station New York. As of now we are looking for a date between mid May 2010 and mid June 2010.
