20th Anniversary Gala
|
Coast Guard in Philadelphia
20th Anniversary Gala
Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay is planning a 20th anniversary open house and formal dinner. This event will take place next summer (June/July 2008) at the Coast Guard Base in Philadelphia. Any veterans who have served at MIO Philadelphia, Base Gloucester City, New Jersey, or MSO/Group Philadelphia are invited to attend the events.
Plans for the day?s activities are still being finalized, but could include a display of memorabilia and performance of the Coast Guard Band. Tours of the facility and meeting areas will be provided for guests to meet and reminisce. You may attend either the Open House or the formal dinner or both events, if so desired. The cost for the formal dinner (which will be held at a local site) is yet to be determined.
Formal registration will be done through Sector Delaware Bay, but they are asking for me as the veteran?s liaison to give them an idea of how many people will be attending now. Please email or phone to let me know if you are coming and if you are bringing a guest.
Official pamphlets will be available near the end of 2007, from the Sector, with a deadline of February 2008 for final registration.
If you know of any other area veterans who served at Philadelphia or Gloucester, please let them know of this event. If you have any memorabilia from your time in the Philadelphia/Gloucester area, please let me know and it will be displayed (as mentioned above) during the event.
Additional information will be forwarded, as it becomes available, to anyone who contacts me with his or her interest.

Northland Reunion

The CGC Northland Reunion (904)
The dates are from July 11 thru July 13, 2008
The rooms are ready to book- You have to make the reservations by phone in order to get the group discount rate. I blocked the entire 2nd floor for Friday July 11th and Saturday July 12th 2008 so, it would be great if we could fill it up with just the Northland crew!

I am looking forward to seeing everyone in July! Remember to get in touch with as many people as you can think of- the more the merrier!!
There will be a sign in set up in the Foyer on Friday; check in is at 2 pm. There will be a meet and greet from 5 thru 9 pm in the Holley ballroom with food and drink, plus there will be a cash bar.
Saturday there will be all kinds of activities planned, I am trying to set up a golf game in the morning (I am working with one of the local golf course). Also on Saturday the ship will be in port so there will be tours of the ship (I am working with the XO on this.) They will have hats for sale onboard the ship. That evening there will be a dinner dance (with a cash bar) in the Foggy Point Restaurant.
I am setting up a kind of show and tell table with pictures and any other kind of memorabilia that anyone wants to bring, so feel free to bring things that will bring back memories.
Sunday morning I have planned for a goodbye breakfast from 8 thru 10 am in the Holley ballroom, check out time is 12 pm. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

2008 SWEETBRIER REUNION

2008 USCGC SWEETBRIER REUNION, in memory of our late Captain Ernie Blanchard, for crewmembers who served from 1980-84, to be held in Cordova, AK, Friday-Sunday, 18-20 July 2008. Further details will be published on our reunion website. We are in planning stages now!
