USCGC Unimak Reunion
2009
Boston, MA
September 10th, 2009
Through
September 13th, 2009
The countdown for USCGC Unimak Reunion 2009 has officially begun. The cost to attend this fantastic fun filled reunion is $85.00 per person. We have posted the registration forms on the Registration Page at www.unimak379.org. Simply go to the Registration Page and print out the form, fill it out and send it in! We will be hosting the reunion at the Best Western Adams Inn hotel (www.bwadamsinn.com) in beautiful Quincy, MA (www.southshorechamber.org). As you know, Boston was USCGC Unimak first homeport! Guests will be able to arrive on Thursday, September 10th, 2009, and we will be departing on Sunday September 13th, 2009. Like the last reunion, we have been given a special discounted rate on the rooms ($134.00 for a single or double room, and $144.00 for a triple or a quad plus taxes). Just tell them that you are attending the USCGC Unimak Reunion and give them the Group Code of "CGUSCG" to get the special rate. We are getting a block of 25 rooms for Thursday evening, and blocks of 30 rooms for Friday and 50 rooms for Saturday. Like last reunion, you will book your hotel reservations directly with Best Western Adams Inn (Reservations: 1-800-368-4012) and your reunion registration with us. This year, it pays to register early with us as the first 40 reunion registrations received will get a FREE Unimak Ballcap (courtesy of Shipmate Joe Short). The hats will be given out with your welcome aboard package upon arrival at the reunion. We are looking into some group tours and possibly a tour of the cutters in port at Support Center Boston (more on that as we get further along). We will have a hospitality reception Friday night in the River Room at the Adams Inn from 7:00 - 10:00 PM. We will have food and refreshments much like last reunion. We have left Saturday during the day open for you to spend the day touring and shopping in Boston or Quincy or perhaps slipping into the Charles River on a Duck Boat tour! Saturday evening we will be hosting a cocktail hour from 6:00 - 7:00 PM. There will be a cash bar and hors doeurves. Then at 7:00 PM the formal festivities will commence in the pavilion over the Neponset River. We will follow that with a genuine New England Lobster Clam Bake with all the trimmings. There will also be Marinated Bourbon Street Sirloin Steak Tips and BBQ Chicken Breast for the non-seafood lovers. We will follow the dinner with the fabulous DJ Derek Ventilato who will entertain us for the evening until 11:00 PM. We are also still looking into having a guest speaker, but may opt to keep it informal. Below is a summary of the itinerary as it stands today:
09/10/2009:
3:00 PM: Thursday guests can arrive and check in to the beautiful Best Western Adams Inn. Like the last reunion, the hotel has given us a special discounted rate.
