Sutter County/Litchfield County/Park County
|
LST 1150, later named USS Sutter County, served in 1945-1946 with a U.S. Coast Guard crew. A reunion will be held in Indianapolis in July with Park County (LST 1077) and Litchfield County (LST 901). TowerRat Migration 2009
|
A TowerRat was a soldier, usually Military Police, assigned to provide security over nuclear or chemical weapons, generally at remote and often primitive sites oveseas during the Cold War.
The soldiers in these units performed their unique, often boring, and generally unappreciated mission flawlessly. In the 50 year history of the TowerRat mission, not a single "item" under their control was lost orcompromised.
Come celebrate a mission now relegated to the archives of military history by joining your fellow TowerRats for an all sites, all units reunion at the Sahara Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV on July 9-10,2009.
