Dear SSBN 600 Shipmates
The next reunion of the USS Theodore Roosevelt SSBN 600 will be held June 5th through 8th, 2008 in Jacksonville Florida. Although we originally hoped it would be a joint 598 Class reunion, it will be only the 600.
The host hotel will be the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center located just outside of Jacksonville. The highlights (aside from getting together with former shipmates) will include (National security conditions permitting) a tour of Kings Bay Submarine Base and a tour of an Ohio Class SSBN, and a Grand Banquet.
At 2006 at the joint reunion we had about 60 former crewmembers plus their families and guest from the Roosevelt. Let?s hope we can get that many this time or possibly even more.
Joel Grainger has taken the lead on this reunion and will be the local coordinator. Anyone who would like to give him a hand, I?m sure he would welcome the offer.
We will have a ship?s store available during the reunion with embroidered hats, embroidered golf shirts, and possibly a few (resin) ships plaques. Since I?m flying to get there I?m limited as to how much I can carry. I will have shirts in the following sizes M (a few), L, XL, 2XL (a few). If you want a medium or 2XL let me know and I will hold them for you. If you need any another size let me know so I can have it made up in advance for you. If you want a shirt or any other item and will not be able to attend let me know and I will let you know about shipping costs.
There will be a couple of raffles during the reunion. We will hold a 50/50 raffle and if we get a few of you to donate some submarine related items we can have a prize raffle too. Let me know if you have something to donate. Also as and incentive to register early there will be a raffle for early registration. Each person who is registered by April 1, 2008 will be entered in a drawing for a mounted half model of the Roosevelt. If you were at the joint reunion in 2006, it is the same type of plaque that we presented to the Groton Inn and Suites.

Please don?t wait until the last minute to get your registrations in. Also, take advantage of the reduced room rate by reserving your room before September 29, 2007.
The registration form, banquet menu, and a Sub Base trip information sheet are all included. If you are going on the Sub Base tour please read the information sheet carefully and when sending in the registration form please include all required information.
