Dear DMZ Vets:
A reunion is being planned for DMZ Vets during the weekend of November 9, 2007 in San Francisco. The outline of the events would be Thursday, November 8, 2007 check-in and hospitality room and easy dining; Friday, November 9 Salmon fishing from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; Friday night dinner sponsored by the Oakland American Legion 10th District 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Saturday morning 3 tour options including a tour of San Francisco Bay and the USS Potomac which was used by President Roosevelt during WWII or a 1 hour boat cruise in San Francisco Bay and shopping at Pier 39 or a walking tour of the Oakland Waterfront at Jack London Square including a small art fair then Oakland Produce District; Saturday evening would be dinner from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at a nice restaurant; Sunday morning, November 11 would be a visit to the Jack London Square Farmer?s Market (you will recall this is Veteran?s Day); Sunday afternoon DMZ Vets recognition ceremony at the USS Hornet, Sunday evening, November 11 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. there will be a dinner.
The typical November weather is 50 degrees overnight and 60 degrees daytime in Oakland. On the water, temperatures are 10 degrees lower.
This sounds like a wonderful reunion and I wanted to get information out to you as soon as possible so that you would decide whether you want to attend.
