USS Julius A. Furer (DEG-6 / FFG-6) Commissioning C.O., Peter A. Stark, Jr., (pictured with other plankowners in this photo from 1967) and other veterans of the "Jolly JAF" will be attending a reunion of shipmates near Charleston, SC (the ship's last home port while still in commission with the USN) in Nov. 2007, on the 40th anniversary of the JAF commissioning ceremony which was held in Boston Naval Shipyard on 11 Nov. 1967.
Anyone who served on JAF, from plankowners to the decommissioning crew that transferred the ship to Pakistan, is invited to visit the reunion website, to join the "JAF Association" and to make reservations to stay at the Holiday Inn Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, SC, from 9 to 11 Nov. 2007. http://www.himtpleasant.com/
