The next reunion for the 70th Engineer Bn. (and attached units) Vietnam veterans will be held in Tucson, April 7-9, 2006. Here's the latest info from Phil Hall, who is making the arrangements in Tucson:
Well, its now official! The next reunion for the 70th Engineers and
Associated Units (primarily Vietnam era) will be held 7-9 April 2006 at the
Hilton Tucson East Hotel in Tucson, Arizona. Make your reservation now by
calling 520- 721 5600 and referencing the 70th Combat Engineers Reunion.
Room cost for a standard room with 2 queen beds will be just under $96 per
night, including tax, and that price is also good for 3 nights before (4-6
April) and 3 nights after(9-11 April) the reunion. Spouses, family members
and friends are welcome. If you would like to have a look at the hotel, you
can see it at www.tucsoneast.hilton.com.
The reunion will officially kick off with an icebreaker and informal dinner
around the pool from 5-8 pm Friday and will conclude with a farewell lunch
on Sunday, 9April. The main dinner and program will be on Saturday night,
and there will be outside activities and trips in the local area lined up
for Saturday. Average high and low temperatures for April in Tucson are
82F/50F. You can find lots of information about Tucson at
www.visitTucson.org.
More information on the program and activities
will follow in the next few months.
Please reserve early- if something happens and you have to cancel out you
can do so without penalty up to 48 hours before your stay. After you have
made a reservation, we will send out a packet with information on the local
area, hotel, and program activities. If you plan to drive an RV out or
otherwise plan to attend but not stay in the Hilton, let me know.
I am sending this out to all of the vets I have heard from as well as our
Kodiak sites that Dan Mouer has set up. If you are in contact with or have
addresses of someone we are not reaching, please pass on this message or let
me know so I can contact them. If you have other questions let me know and
I will get back to you. I wish all of you the very best and hope to see you
in Tucson!
