BACKGROUND:
Springfield, MO is in Greene County named for Nathanael. They have a park also named for Nathanael. They have a subvets chapter NOT named for Nathanael, (they are named for the USS Runner). The Ozark-Runners decided to raise a memorial to submariners and more specifically (I think to have a place to put it) they decided on relating it to the USS Nathanael Greene and putting it in NG Park there in Springfield. Then, they thought it would be nice to invite some NG Crew to the dedication, (that's where we come in). The Ozark-Runners chapter made contact to a couple of Greenies that had a list of ex-636 types (about 90) and one of them was Julian Shull, and Shull wanted to know if this was from MY list, knowing mine was large. Enter Tom with a list of 200 but not all that current and this has turned into a reunion "quest". I was asked to help and have done so. We now have confirmed email addresses on 220, unconfirmed but valid on 150 and postal addresses on another 80 for a contactable count of 450. Initial contact has been made to all and we have 31 confirmed to attend, not the least of which is Cap'n Gentry.
