Basic Allowance for Housing Reserve Component/Transient (BAH for RC/Transient) is the housing allowance for members in particular circumstances, for example, reservists on active duty less than 30 days. It does not vary by geographic location. BAH RC/Transient is set based on the national average for housing. BAH is published annually and is determined by increasing the previous year's table by the percentage growth of housing costs.
2008 BAH for Reserve Component/Transient and Differential Tables
The 2008 BAH rates, which go into effect on Jan.1, 2008, will increase 7.3% for BAH RC/T and 3.5% for BAH differential. Learn more about the 2008 BAH rate increases.
Note: This chart applies to reserve servicemembers who have been called to active duty for a period of 139 days or less per year. If you are called to duty for 140 days or more per year, see the regular BAH section for your allowance charts.
