If you have not reached full retirement age (65 and 2 months in
2003), you can earn up to $11,520 with no reduction in benefits. For
every $2 you earn over $11,520, $1 is withheld from your benefits.
In the year you reach your full retirement age, your benefits will
be reduced $1 for every $3 you earn over a higher earnings limit ($30,720
in 2003) until the month you reach full retirement age. Then you can
work without any reduction in your monthly benefits no matter how
much you earn. (Full retirement age is 65 for persons born before
1938 and gradually increases to 67 for persons born in 1960 or later.)
