If you are an active duty commissioned officer you are entitled to the Government Meal Rate. Every year the rate is reviewed and revised, if necessary. The new rate is effective January 1, of each year.
The NEW FY2006 (in effect January 1, 2005) meal rates are as follows:

| Breakfast | $1.60 | $1.95 |
| Lunch | $3.05 | $3.55 |
| Dinner | $3.05 | $3.55 |
| Total | $7.70 | $9.05 |
