Beginning Sunday September 9, HBO airs the first two episodes of its
epic 10-part mini-series Band of Brothers. Based on the award-winning
book by noted historian Stephen E. Ambrose, and executive-produced
by Tom Hanks and Stephen Spielberg, the series chronicles the adventures
of Easy Company from the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st
Airborne during World War II. An unflinching, realistic look at the
lives of ordinary soldiers thrown into extraordinary situations, this
series has already been compared to Saving Private Ryan in
its gritty attention to detail and honest storylines.
