Write Letters Of Support For American Troops
 Deployed Overseas

In the past two years, thousands of military servicemembers overseas have found out how much they are appreciated by their fellow Americans back home through the "Letters TO The Front Worldwide Letter Writing Contest." This year, with the recent deployments, the contest is particularly needed -- by the service men and women who will receive the letters, and by Americans of all ages who feel a need to express their thanks.

Contest coordinator Marsha Roberts says, "We're so pleased to be able to provide a way for people to get their letters of thanks and support to the men and women who are currently serving and those who will be called up in the coming weeks and months."

Each person who enters the contest must write a letter of support of 100-150 words starting with: "Dear Service Member, I just wanted to say thanks for ..." The letter, attached to an Entry Form, should be mailed to:

Letters TO The Front
P.O. Box 25348
Alexandria, VA 22313

All letters must be postmarked no later than
Veterans' Day (November 11, 2001). Over 150 local and regional prizes were awarded after Contest 2000, and this year promises to be much larger. All local and regional winners are automatically entered into the competition for the Grand Prizes: children under the age of 18 can receive a $3,000 scholarship award, and the 19-and-over Grand Prize Winner receives a computer system valued at $3,000. You can download an Entry Form and find out how you can help generate letters of support for our troops through the "Letters TO The Front Letter Writing Contest" Website.
