 Board of Veterans Appeals 

The Board of Veterans Appeals (BVA) makes final decisions on appeals on behalf of the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Learn about the Board and how to contact it here.

 The Appeals Process: Step 1 

The first step in the appeal process is for a claimant to file a written notice of disagreement (NOD) with the local VA regional office or medical center that made the decision.
