Your happiness is much more important to your recruiter than you may think. Military recruiter’s jobs entail more than just finding qualified individuals to join the service. They also make sure enlistees are prepared mentally and physically for basic training and have everything needed to start basic training. Recruiters also make sure you stay qualified and motivated until you leave for basic training. They do all this, plus talk with teachers, counselors, and parents, while making sure you get the best customer service. So why do recruiters care if you are happy or not?

As a recruiter it was very important that every individual I put in the service felt he or she had received the best information and world-class customer service. Let me explain why: If an individual joins the service when he or she is in high school and I give him or her great service, who do you think they will be talking to? Their friends! Their teachers! Their counselors! Plus anybody else who will listen. They will wear their military t-shirt and be a walking billboard for recruiting. Here are a couple of reasons why recruiters want you to be happy with your experience:

  • Recruiters need you to talk with your friends and family and get them to consider the military.
  • Recruiters want you to come back after basic training and help them recruit.

A recruiter’s success relies on how well he or she treats the people they help join the military. Successful recruiters are the ones who treat their applicants like friends or family. They give the same service to a recruit off the street as they would give their little brother or sister. By giving awesome service and the best most up-to-date information to every applicant, recruiters can use the power of word-of-mouth to be successful.

If you are considering joining the military or already in the process of joining, you deserve the best customer service possible but remember it goes both ways. Your recruiter also deserves good service from you. Keeping appointments, being on time, and gathering the necessary documents are just part of what your recruiter needs from you. Some other important things your recruiter needs are for you to be enthusiastic about the military, tell your friends how great it is, and bring them to talk with your recruiter.

Your recruiter wants you to have a great experience. He or she needs you to talk up the military in your school and to your friends and family. Every recruiter’s ultimate goal is to find highly qualified people to join the military. A recruiter’s ultimate success relies on the happiness of the men and women they put in the military. Stay enthusiastic, stay positive, stay qualified and above all help your branch of the military by telling everyone you know how great of an opportunity it is.

You too can have an awesome recruiting experience and it all starts by talking with a recruiter
