Change Of Command for Coast Guard Cutter Adelie

SEATTLE - Senior Chief Petty Officer Chad H. Curth will succeed Senior Chief Petty Officer Kurt A. Rugenius as Officer in Charge of the Coast Guard Cutter Adelie in a ceremony to be held at Coast Guard Group Port Angeles at Friday.

Senior Chief Petty Officer Curth last served as the Officer in Charge onboard the Coast Guard Cutter Wire, homeported in Saugerties, N.Y. Senior Chief Petty Officer Curth previous tours of duty on cutters include the Coast Guard Cutter Acushnet, Coast Guard Cutter Reliance and the Coast Guard Cutter Evergreen.

He has also served as the executive petty officer at Coast Guard Station Kenosha, Wisc., and Coast Guard Station St. Inigoes, Md.

Senior Chief Petty Officer Curth is a native of Northbrook, Ill. Curth is married to the former Christina LaVallie of Palmer, Mass.

Senior Chief Petty Officer Curth's top military awards include the Coast Guard Commendation Medal, two Commandant's Letters of Commendation and Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal.
