More No Co-Pay on TRICARE OTC Meds TRICARE co-payments on mail order OTC (over-the-counter drugs), are now free. As part of a two-year test, TRICARE beneficiaries are now able to substitute over-the-counter versions of certain prescription drugs without a co-payment. The test is currently limited to the TRICARE Mail Order Pharmacy only. More TRICARE Reserve Select Update TRICARE Reserve Select, the health plan for qualified National Guard and Reserve members, will be completely restructured as of Oct. 1, 2007. Changes include expanded eligibility, removal of the three-tier system, and the ability to sign up at anytime. More USAF Marathon Adds New Elements In response to runners' requests, Air Force Marathon race officials have adjusted awards categories for this year's half-marathon race. They are now broken into five-year age increments rather than 10. The change is part of a growing list of new elements for this year's Air Force 60th Anniversary event. More Army Reserve Recruiting Assistance Program Pvt. Dustin McMore of Conway, Ark., became $2,000 richer recently as the first recipient of the Army Reserve Recruiter Assistance Program (AR-RAP) bonus. To qualify for the bonus, Pvt. McMore recruited his friend, Pvt. Trent Harris, into the Army Reserve. More Presidential Commission Issues Report The commission tasked with fixing the wounded servicemembers' health care system has presented its final report to President Bush. More Kid's Deployment Show Nominated for Emmy The television special "When Parents Are Deployed" has been nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Children's Program. More DoD SMART Scholarship The Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship for Service Program provides selected applicants full tuition, money for books, and different levels of salaries, or stipends. More Fund Memorializes Soldier Each spring the Scott Vallely Soldiers Memorial Fund presents cash leadership awards to graduates entering military service. More than 15 such awards were presented to ROTC and high school students in 2006 alone. The fund also sponsors a troop gift package program.
