Special Warfare Summary
The 113X designator is applied to officers qualifying through formal
training and practical experience in duty involving diving, parachuting,
and demolition of explosives in the conduct of Naval Special Warfare
Operations. The community is limited to male officer volunteers
from Unrestricted Line designators 11XX or 13XX.
Eligibility
If you want to apply, you must be eligible for a SECRET clearance
based on a DD
398-2, Personnel Security Questionnaire National Agency Checklist
(NAC).
You should be 28 years of age or less as of application receipt
date (except officers with previous enlisted experience).
You must agree to serve on active duty for a period of 3 years or
until completion of previously acquired minimum service obligated
service, whichever is longer, subsequent to successful completion
of training. No additional service obligation is incurred if you
are involuntarily disenrolled because of disqualification. You would
then serve on active duty until completion of your prior minimum
service obligation.
You must meet medical standards as specified in the NAVMED
P-117, Manual of Medical Department, Article 15-66.
You must satisfactorily complete the physical screening test (PST)
outlined in MILPERSMAN 1220-190.
You must have attained warfare qualification (SWO, Pilot, NFO, SUB,
etc.) in the case of non-training attrite officers seeking lateral
transfer.
Putting Together Your Application Package.
The following items are the requirements for a complete application
package for initial training:
Your letter requesting transfer to Naval Special Warfare
Commanding Officer Endorsement (per MILPERSMAN 1210-220)
The following enclosures should be included with your letter:
SF-88 (2 copies)
SF-93
Report of Screening (MILPERSMAN 1220 Exhibit 3).
Letters of Recommendation. It is highly encouraged to include
letters of recommendation from Senior Military Officers.
