1.  This MESSAGE will expire May 08.  The procedures will remain in effect until superseded or rescinded.

      2.        The purpose of this message is to provide guidance for the separation
pay/readjustment/severance pay (disability or non-disability) annotation on the DD Form 214/215.

      3.        It has been brought to HRC-Alexandria’s attention that entries regarding
severance pay annotations on the DD Form 214 are inconsistent.  

4.  When a Soldier receives separation/readjustment/severance pay (disability or non-disability), the  “Gross”  (not NET)  amount will be requested from Finance.  Enter the type and gross amount of the applicable pay on the DD Form 214,  Block 18, Remarks Section.
