Air Force Names SERE Specialist Award Winners

7/21/2006 - WASHINGTON (AFPN)  -- The Air Force announced the 2005 Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape Specialists of the year.

The 2005 award winners are:

SERE Specialist Senior NCO of the Year, Tier 1: Master Sgt. John Mizelle, 607th Combat Operations Squadron, Osan Air Base, South Korea.

SERE Specialist Senior NCO of the Year, Tier 2: Master Sgt. Patrick Carroll, 48th Operations Support Squadron, Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England.

SERE Specialist NCO of the Year: Staff Sgt. Edmond Dawejko, 18th OSS, Kadena AB, Japan.

SERE Specialist Airman of the Year: Senior Airman Matthew Canoy, 336th Training Group, Fairchild Air Force Base, Wash.

Each of the recipients is authorized to wear the Air Force Recognition Ribbon.
