Hello,
My father's brother, Mayo Johnson, 2nd Lt. from ND was killed in action on 05 November in the battle for Le Stromberg Hill. This information came from my Uncle Hume Johnson, who is 83 years old. I have run out of leads searching for information about my Uncle Mayo's military service. We requested the records from the military and they were destroyed in a fire sometime in the 50's I believe. We're assuming that he was with the 83rd Infantry Division since he served in the infantry and was killed on November 5th in the battle for Le Stromberg Hill.
