On Christmas Day, 1945, when coming back from shore leave my dad and some of his shipmates were put on an overloaded ferry. The ferry overturned and he was caught underneath. A fellow sailor by the name of Buddy Flowers pulled him out and saved his life. I would like to know where he is...every Christmas, at the end of our family prayer before dinner, he says "And God Bless Buddy Flowers, whereever he may be!" |
