You have committed your reserves to one of the attack axes and completely thrown the enemy off the objective. They appear to be on the verge of surrender and their commander has asked for a meeting under flag of truce. You accept.
The opposing commander has agreed to order his troops in an entire sector to lay down their arms if, and only if, you negotiate the terms of their surrender, including personal protection for he and his family. He also asks that certain religious sites in the immediate facility NOT be occupied by your troops as part of the agreement.
He clearly states that if you do not negotiate immediately, he will resume fighting. Do you:
Negotiate with the enemy commander. You believe that you can negotiate acceptable terms for this surrender and end the fighting in this whole sector on your terms.
Suspend operations and send for someone more senior or experienced to conduct negotiations. If the enemy fights, so be it; you will press your attacks with vigor, even into the religious sites.
Choice #1:Negotiate to meet your objectives. |
Choice #2:Send for an experienced negotiator but prepare for battle. |
