The Situation (Continued):

You know very little of the enemy force dispositions and fortifications you must attack. There is a great deal of uncertainty about what your forces will encounter.

When meeting with your senior staff to plan for the attack, what plan would you adopt?

Choice #1:

Plan for multiple situations in detail. Envision every possible outcome, and create a plan for each situation. Personally oversee the details to ensure the best plan is created.

Choice #2:

Come up with a general plan and leave room for maximum flexibility. Because you have confidence in your troops, their strong capabilities, and your experience, you need not create a painstakingly detailed plan.

Choice #1:

Create a detailed plan.
