To the man that was a hero to so many before he became mine. The days he arrived on US soil and was spitted on and cursed, shame on those people. At a tender young age he grabbed his M-16 and greens, and never looked back. My Dad dedicated his whole entire life to the military and then some. Everyone may not know his name or who he is personally, but I do.
I watched him every morning lace up his boots and make sure his uniform was straight. There were days he came home worn and tired, but he always had time for me. Whether it be a school project or taking me to the park. I know he loved his job, but more importantly....he loved me.
Forever, even up till the day he passed away, he flew that POW/MIA flag proudly in our front yard. We kept tiny american flags displayed on our porch, whether rain or shine. He supported all the soldiers, male or female, past, present or future ones.
