In support of Operation Enduring Freedom, the death of PFC Pendelton "Lydell" Sykes II, 25 y/o, of Chesapeake, VA was announced today. Sykes was assigned to the 5th Battalion, 159th Aviation Regiment, 12th Aviation Brigade, Giebelstadt, Germany. Seven other Soldiers who were also supporting Operation Enduring Freedom were killed or are listed as Duty Status Whereabouts Unknown (DUSTWUN). The soldiers died or became unaccounted for on April 6 in Ghanzi, Afghanistan, when the CH-47 helicopter they were on crashed.
DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These were my thoughts, considering I had encouraged Lydell to join the Army in the first place!
