 Tribute:
I am giving tribute for my carreer soldier husband who died 2/3/04 from complications of many medical problems he faced as he put up a fight to stay alive.He had no chance for survival as his immune system gave in to weaken him.He saw battles in Korea,Vietnam,Berlin yet he faced them well. Even though he made our home a battle zone I appreciated his military service and stood with him for 37 years.His job in communications allowed him to speak to many VIPs. While in Berlin he guarded NASA exhibits when John Glen's space vehicle toured.He set up communications with NASA at that time.When we moved to Frankfurt he was ask to go into the tracking station.He happened to find the signal and communicated with Apollo astronauts on the moon and relayed the conversations to NASA..He was holding the relay switch when the famous words were spoken"Houston,the Eagle has landed"..
