The Montana Army National Guard has answered the call to action since before it became a state. Members can trace their lineage to the rough and tumble frontier days. MTARNG members have fought or stood ready to fight.
In recent years MTARNG has been involved in every operation from desert storm, to Kosovo, and back to fighting wildfires in the rugged backcountry.
