___________ In Memoriam ____________ ____ Killed in Action - 2 July 1967 _____ No tribute is grand enough to convey the deep remorse over the loss of those we knew so well and respected even more. "Captain of Marines", was Captain Keneipps' favorite addressal to his contemporaries - always with a broad smile and spirited attitude. On 2 July 1967 he made his supreme sacrifice for his men and his country. As a Forward Air Controller, Captain Keneipp was called upon to take command of a trapped U.S. Marine rifle company in heavy combat. He led them to the bitter, tragic end - this Captain of Marines.
