This page is dedicated to the men of all the units of the First Brigade (Mechanized) of the Fifth Infantry Division. This "Welcome" sign was erected at the entrance of the Replacement Detachment in late 1969 or early 1970. It faced north towards the AFVN television tower which made an excellent "aiming stake." The ribbons are representative of those given to many who served with the First Brigade in Quang Tri province. The ribbons in order of precedence are, Bronze Star Medal, Army Commedation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal , and Republic Of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
