Daniel MacCaine served in the Navy for 26 years. Unfortunately , I was only 3 years old when he passed away so I have very few memories of him. I know the 2 ships he served aboard the longest were the USS INTREPID and the USS JASON. He passed away in May of 1970 just six months after his retirement. He was awarded many ribbons & medals during his time of service, all of which were destrpyed on a house fire. When he retired he had achieved the rank of Chief Petty Medical Officer.
