I recently talked with a young man from the Army.
He was about 18, or 19 years old. He was home on leave. We were both on a bus to Los Angeles. The guy was pretty quiet for a while, but then asked me what time it was. I looked down at my watch and then looked up at him and I said, "I guess it's time for me to
buy a watch, cause mine stoped or it's broken.
The young man looked at me in wonder, and then said thanks with a troubled look on his face. I said to my self, this kids been at "Boot Camp" to long and deserves this leave he's on. We didn't talk again till we both got off the bus. Then I said, "It's 11:30 on the nose". Again he looked at me funny, and said "Thanks" . I said to him "Am I that ugly that you have to keep looking at me funny, or what". He laughed and said "no, It's just that you remind me of my Dad". I said to him, "are you out here visiting him?"
