Company D (Ranger) 151st Infantry Veteran William E. Butler has been accepted into the Ranger Hall of Fame at Ft. Benning, GA. He will be inducted in a ceremony on 4 October 2000 at Infantry Hall, Ft. Benning, GA. MSG William E. Butler is inducted into the Ranger Hall of Fame for his extraordinary valor, forty-five years of dedicated service to this nation as a Ranger. MSG Butler?s dedication to his Country began at age of 16 in 1946 when he attended basic Infantry Training, and lasted through 1989, when he performed his last jump at the age of 59. MSG Butler completed Basic Airborne & Glider training in 1946, and is a graduate of Class 2-51 of the United States Army Ranger School. Throughout his career MSG Butler has mentored and trained Ranger troops during peacetime and war, as well as performing acts of valor while engaging the enemy in combat.
