317th Engineer 20th Gulf War Reunion:
Those of us that served during the timeframe of 1989-1993 as members of the 317th Engineer Battalion and deployed as a unit in support of Desert Shield/Storm, are working on setting up a get-together/reunion for next Memorial Day weekend. D Company 1961 To end of 1963 Only:
D Company 237th Engineers was attached to the 82nd Engineers Oct. 1961 to Nov 1963 and then was made D Company of the 82nd Engineers in 1963. All the troopers of D Company in Bayreuth went to Bamberg to the 82nd Engrs as D Company. The way I understand it, the 237th made another D Company around the 1st of 1964. 8th Annual 3-506th Reunion:
I was among the original enlisted men to form the battalion at Fort Campbell, KY in early 1967. I was assigned to 3rd Plt., Co. A. We did the war game exercises and deployed to Vietnam in October 1967. I became the battalion combat photographer/reporter during our first year in Vietnam. We have a website: www.currahee.org and will hold our 8th Annual 3-506th Reunion, June 15-19, 2004 in Clarksville, TN. The exact location is currently being negotiated.
