(Page 4 of 23 Pages): On 21 Jan 1945, the battalion was assigned to the 15th Army. This Army was the last of the Field Armies to be formed for the European Campaign and was commanded by LTG Leonard T. Gerow. It was further a part of the 12th Army Group which was commanded by General Omar Bradley. This Army Group consisted of the 1st and 9th Armies which were at this time covering themselves with glory in Belgium ,Holland and France.The month of February 1945 was an exciting and strenous month what with preparation and anticipation running hand in hand .
