Jo,yce, left, Battalion Adjutant, aSSisted by Gunnery Sergeant D.L. Harper, acting Sergeant Major, right, furls the colors of the 11th Motor Transport Battalion, 1st Marine Division, . during deactivation ceremonies at Camp Pendleton June 14. The colore were presented to Lieutenant Colonel C.A. Rosenfeld, center, by Capt. Joyce immediately after furling. The "Rolling 11th" was deactivated after five years of distinguished service, mostly in the Republic of Vietnam. The Battalion arrived in DaNang on Dec. 29, 1966, and remained i..n Vietnam until April 23, 1971. The "Rolling 11th" received a meritorious unit commendation for "Significant contributions" in eight major combat operations from Sept. 16, 1967, to Dec. 31, 1968.
