Specialist Marc A. Anderson, 30, of Brandon, Florida. Corporal Matthew A. Commons, 21, of Boulder City, Nevada. Sergeant Bradlet S. Crose, 22 or 27, of Orange Park, California. All three assignde to Company A, 1/75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia. Air Force Tech. Sgt. John A. Chapman, 36, of Waco, Texas. Assigned to 24th Special Tactics Squadron. Air Force Senior Airman Jason D. Cunningham, 26, of Camarillo, California. Assigned to 38th Rescue Squadron, Moody Air Force Base. Navy Avition Boatswain's Mate Petty Officer 1st Class Neil C. Roberts., 32, of Woodland, California. Assigned to Naval Special Warfare Development Group, SEAL. Sergeant Phillip J. Svitak, 31, of Neosha, Missouri. Assigned to Company A, 2nd Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (ABN), Fort Campbell, Ky. Anderson was shot and killed while exiting an MH-47 Chinook helicopter under fire on Takur Ghar Mountain in eastern Afghanistan during Operation Anaconda. Chapman, an Air Force combat controller, was shot and killed when he and a group of NAVY SEALS were attempting to rescue another Navy SEAL during Operation Anaconda. Commons and Crose were shot and killed when they were exiting a chinook helicopter while under fire on Takur Ghar mountain in eastern Afghanistan. Cunningham, An Air Force pararescueman, was shot and wounded on Takur Ghar during Operation Anaconda. He died while waiting to be evacuated. Roberts was aboard a MH-47 Chinook helicopter preparing to land on Takur Ghar mountain, Afghanistan, when the helicopter was hit by rocket-propelled grenades, causing Roberts to fall from the helicopter's ramp. Roberts survived the fall and immediately engaged Al-Qaeda fighters with his M-249 light machine-guns, surviving at least 30 minutes before he was shot and killed at close range. Svitak, a gunner on a MH-47 Chinook helicopter, was shot and killed as the helicopter landed on Takur Ghar mountain, Afghanistan, to rescue a Navy SEAL who was under fire from Al-Qaeda fighters. A/C was shot down by small arms fire and RPG while attempting a troop insertion on a mountain top outside Gardez. Anderson, Commons, Crose, Chapman, and Cunningham died during a nine-hour firefight trying to rescue Navy Seal PO1 Neil C. Roberts. Svitak was shot on board. God Bless...
