Histories for 536th Military Police Company




536th Military Police Company
In August 1963, the 508th Military Police Battalion with Headquarters, Headquarters Detachment, Company?s A and B, relocated from McGraw Kaserne to the new 508th Military Police Battalion Headquarters building, Von Steuben Hall. The official dedicated of Von Steuben Hall took place on October 21, 1963. Von Steuben Hall was outside the front gate of McGraw Kaserne on Stadelheimer Strasse. On July 1, 1964, Headquarters, Headquarters Detachment, Company?s A, B, C, and D, 508 Military Police Battalion were deactivated per USAREUR General Order No. 201. Upon deactivation of the 508 Military Police Battalion some former members from Company A and B were assigned to Company C, 793rd Military Police Battalion, which was assigned to Von Steuben Hall. During 1965, Company C, 793rd Military Police Battalion was replaced by the 536th Military Police Company. Detachments from the 536th Military Police Company were located in Bad Tolz, Garmisch, Landshut, and Berchtesgaden. In 1968 the 536th Military Police Company was relocated to Augsburg and a detachment remained in Munich. During 1972, Company C, 385th Military Police Battalion was relocated from Karlsruhe, Heilbronn, and Heidelberg to Augsburg. Company C was headquartered with two platoons in Augsburg, and one platoon headquartered in Munich with detachments in Berchtesgaden, Bad Toelz, and Garmisch.
