Teh information posted in History is incorrect in that the A7-B's we had in 1970 to 1977 were not Skyhawks but Ling Temco Vought Corsair II's with TF30-408 powerplants. The A7-E's were coming on board as I left the squadron in 1977 (they had TF30-P412's, which were not the greatest engine upgrade). In fact, I understand that subsequent to my leavingt eh sqaudron, one of our very best Line Officer pilots lost his life during carrier qualifications with the A7-E.
