My father commanded the Sundew from 1974 to 1976. I was unhappy to see her leave Charlevoix for the Acacia. Was born in Duluth while Dad was on the Woodrush. Many years ago. He was also stationed on the Sweetbriar out of Juneau. I'd like to hear about him from the men he served with.
12 Feb Bridge (Eddy Arnold)
We were on our way to Curtis Bay,MD to drop off the Sundew and the Brige tender was a litte slow in opening the bridge. We were dropping off the Sundew to pick up the Mesquite and headed to little creek for training.

Home port was Charlivox, Michigan durning the vietnam war. She was the most powerful ship in her class.Durning the sinking of The ss Carl D. Bradley she took on one of the worst storms of the century looking for survivors.
