i was on the yfu-12 that was hit by rockets on the purfume river. this happened during the tet offensive of 68. our boat was carrying 100 tons of ammo for the marines at hue city. we almost made it but....

I was the Admin Officer in the White Elephant, working for CDR Al Hayes. My tour was 1 July 68 - 1 July 69. I retired after 34 years Naval Service as an LDO CDR in 1985.
