After 18 month in Dang South Vietnam, I joined the crew of the USS Amphion, AR 13 in October 1966 and served as an Electronics Technician Second Class for 2 years. We stayed in Norfolk for the first year. We made one cruise to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Then she went into the Portsmouth shipyard for a retrofit. In October 1968 I was discharged. After her refit in the yards she sailed to Holy Loc Scotland and was later decommissioned and I believe scraped.
