We were on are way home after a 6 month deployment to the med then recalled back because of the middle east crisis. What you ships company may not know (I was an airdale) the navy was flying round the clock air operations between three carriers and during one of these operations our own E-2 AWACS plane landed and hit the A-7 line that WAS loaded with conventional weapons...just damaged tails & rudders! It wasn't long before that E2 had a number of A7 logos stenciled under the pilots window! It could have a disaster like the Forrestal (sp)..FYI
