98+ Days ('76 Med)
As luck would have it I, due to unlucky section placement when we hit Rota, got to stay onboard a few extra days over the 98 span to our next port. Brindisi wasn't it?
Anyway, remember standing down off the coast of Lebanon, unable to fly because we weren't in international waters, and since we in HS-15 had just received new (from the depot) SH-3H's could do very little in the way of actual maintenance.I remember being very bored, and just a touch of psychosis began to affect the whole crew.
Don't know if it were rumor, but remember hearing about someone going around after lights out with a razor or utility knife and slashing a couple of guys, also someone getting set on fire in their rack.
On top of all, a lovely bi-centennial celebration, which I think was the low point of the whole cruise.
