98 Days at Sea USS America, Med 1976, No shore leave for America. We pulled into Turkey, they said "No US carriers here" We pulled out. We pulled into Greece, they beat the officers, and Chiefs with our own food provisions. We pulled out. Then Naples, US Ambasadore killed in Lebanon, pulled right back out, Evacuated Lebanon, over 7000 people on board, back to Naples. Finaly shore leave. All we had left was Bug juice & fake eggs. Best piece of land I ever saw. The time line on these ports may be totaly wrong, however the events are true. Better memories please opine.
