In charge of #1 Engineroom, burned out jacking gear motor while spinning main engine. Aboard during both fires. Left Navy in June "62 and reenlisted in Sept '62 Retired as MMC in Sept '73. I was in charge of Avionics Corrosion Control and Electrical Safety. My Son Brandon, was able to join us in Hawaii and cruise back to San Diego. It was by far the greatest father son experience. He saw more of that ol' ship than I ever did.
