In charge of #1 Engineroom, burned out jacking gear motor while spinning main engine. Aboard during both fires. Left Navy in June "62 and reenlisted in Sept '62 Retired as MMC in Sept '73. Lots of great memories. Going over the sand bar off Mayport was only one. Lived in Navy housing on Long Island after commissioning.
