I was onboard in the 79 west-oac in vs-21 antisub.our work spaces were on starboard side just ahead of the forward elevator. In our space we used the frist floor as a storeage and the void went down about 4 or 5 levels geting smaller as you go down.while on the lower levels one day i noticed on the bulkheads in more than one level in faded paint the name Constellation! I knew an old Master Chief who told me that fire in the ship yards on the Connie was bad enough that the two sister ships were switched in name so the Kitty would be the first at sea as planed.
