I came aboard the Sara in Naples after 2yrs shore duty at Mare Island, and 6 mos. with Sea Lab ll. Drakes Bay, Cal. I was in S2 Div. CS2, food office, Warrant Off. Cox was our Mess Officer, I remember Chef Johnson, Chef Herrara and CS1 Pierce but thats about it. Did have a great time on the cruse except for the spit and polish when Pres. Nixon came aboard and had to man the rails, cooks normally don't have to go top side except to get a little fresh air ?
